After working all over the world and for clients ranging from Gucci to Joan Rivers to Adidas, Melbourne-born hairstylist Lazarus Douvos founded Rose 1845 in 2020. Carrying a deep love for his craft and the world of fragrance, he dreamt of marrying the emotional connection that perfume brings to the ritual of haircare. From the pourable glass vessels to the rose scent, created by master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, to the sulfate-free shampoo and amino acid-rich conditioner, the experience is one that elevates the in-shower experience and the hair that comes after.
“May roses from Grasse are beloved by perfumers, but this has to be the first time they’ve been used so prominently in shampoo and conditioner. It is truly hair care for the fragrance obsessed, with a hair oil and an eau de parfum to match.” - Jamie Rosen, Wellbeing Editor
